Do not use the app Waze to get to Old Bara, it will take you on a very round about way not suitable for vehicles. Google Maps and Apple Maps both work fine by searching "Old Bara Farmhouse".

 

Alternatively you can follow these instructions:

From Scone, Newcastle, Tamworth, Dunedoo, Cassilis and Coolah.

Head for Mudgee. As you're nearing the town, you'll see Parklands Resort on your right, Mudgee Race Course on your left. Approx 500m along, turn left at the roundabout onto the Lue Road. Now click the map on the right for more detailed instructions.

 

From Sydney

Head for Lithgow. After Lithgow, and after passing Lithgow Correctional Centre on right, take Mudgee exit on left. Driving into Mudgee, at McDonalds roundabout, turn right onto Church Street. Keep going straight through town, do not turn off. Pass the Lawson Park Hotel on your right as you leave town and head over Holyoak Bridge. At the roundabout turn right and follow signs to Lue Road and Rylstone. Now click the map on the right for more detailed instructions.

 

Alternatively, if you do not need to go into Mudgee itself, you can turn right off the Sydney road after Ilford, to Rylstone, go through Rylstone, take your first turn on your left to Mudgee and Lue. Do not take the right turn saying "Bara Road", keep going through Lue. Go through Lue to the Hayes Gap Rd on your right which is 8km from Lue. Now click the map on the left for more detailed instructions.

Or, for the most direct route without going to Mudgee, stay on the Sydney road, turn right into Rocky Waterhole Road, at the Moothi Winery sign. Stay on this road until the T junction at the end, this is the Lue Road, turn right, keep going until the Hayes Gap Road on your left. Follow the map.
