Our farmhouse is only a short drive (29kms. av. 25mins drive) from the beautiful township of Mudgee where you can stock up on local wines and produce, and you’ll be sure to find things you will love from our range of boutique shops.

Take a REAL break away from it all, come out to the country to experience all the space, fresh country air and the rare sound of silence. Don't forget to look up at night at the amazing stars with no light pollution. For the cooler nights we have a new fire pit for you to enjoy.

The Old Bara Farmhouse is the ideal place to stay, offering private, spacious and comfortable accommodation ideal for 4 couples, but can sleep up to 10 guests in a charming, 1920s private farmhouse with reverse cycle air conditioning throughout the house for comfort all year round and a cosy log fire for the winter months. Our guesthouse is idyllically situated in a beautiful tree studded garden on a 1100 acre cattle property near Mudgee. Plenty of farm animals as well as wildlife to see.

 

Our Mudgee accommodation is perfect for families and friends to get together in their own private homestead (No sharing with other guests). The house is fully self-catered with all the luxuries of home and more. Beautiful antique furniture, very comfortable beds. Fine linen & towels are provided. The kitchen is very well equipped, with all modern appliances. A large outside entertainment area with large gas BBQ for your own use.

 

The guesthouse has 4 bedrooms which comfortably sleeps 4 couples but can accommodate up to 10 guests; 2.5 bathrooms. Shower fitted with grab bar, no steps throughout the house. 

 

Experience your own private country home surrounded by Australian bush wildlife & exquisite bird life. Relax, enjoy a glass of Mudgee wine in your own beautiful garden or on one of the verandahs.  In the Winter time, enjoy a glass or two of great Mudgee red around the fire pit.

Enjoy the freedom to explore, walk your dog, yes we are pet friendly, (please let us know if you are bringing your pet with you) or ride your bicycle around the tracks on the property. (No motorbike riding allowed anywhere on Old Bara, we offer peace and quiet). Take a picnic (picnic blankets provided) to our creek or up to the picnic table overlooking the Mudgee hills. Make your own trail amongst nature. Or simply relax and unwind whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility of the Australian bush with a glass of Mudgee wine!
